DDF conducts nationwide programs that focus on awareness, prevention and early detection of Type 2 diabetes. Major Programs include: Kid Initiative to Defeat Diabetes(KIDD™), KIDD™ School Screening Test Program, Medical Supplies Program, Pet Diabetes Awareness.
DAN Project (Diabetes Awareness Now)
This Defeat Diabetes® Awareness Project is a Public Service Announcement campaign about the dangers of undiagnosed diabetes. Public Service Announcements about diabetes awareness and prevention have aired on television and radio in targeted local markets and nationally. Established in memory of Dan Kerner.
Media Outreach Campaign
Our ongoing media outreach campaigns informs and educates the media of the dangers of diabetes.
Advocacy for People with Diabetes
Mr. Diabetes® testifies before Governors, Senators, Congressmen, State Legislatures, Mayors, City Councils, and Civic Organizations to bring awareness about diabetes to governments and their health agencies. He also meets with leaders of the medical community as well as hospitals, Diabetes Support Groups and Senior Citizen Groups, Schools, Camps, and other venues.
