Description: Tangerines are a small orange fruit in the citrus family with textured wrinkly, loose skins that are the easiest to peel among citrus fruits.
 
Availability: Fresh – Winter, early spring
 
Facts: Tangerines were named for the city of Tangiers in Morocco that was long famous for them.

Serving Size = 1 CUP

 
Selection: Choose firm to semi-soft tangerines with deep orange color, heavy for size.
Avoid soft spots and dull or brown color.
 
Storage: Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
