Winter Sports


Why hibernate until spring? Take advantage of the cold and snow, embrace your adventurous spirit, and learn an outdoor cold weather sport. Winter sports are a great way to keep active during those cold winter months. Check out the list with plenty of resources too!

Archery, in one form or another, has been around for somewhere between 10,000 – 40,000 years and is still a great recreational activity that you can do indoors or out. 
 
Biking is easy to incorporate into your life and a great family activity. 
 
Bowling is enjoyed by 95 million people worldwide and is a good winter alternative for physical activity. Good family fun and sometimes Kids can Bowl Free! 
 
Paddle Sports - Whether it’s floating down a quiet river, kayaking a big bay, rowing a small lake or rushing down white water rapids, taking up a paddle or an oar can be a fantastic way to enjoy the outdoors.

Camping is a fun family outdoor recreational activity. It’s a great way to enjoy nature while spending one or several nights outdoors, usually at a campsite. Camping may involve the use of a tent, caravan, RV, cabin, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all.

Corn mazes are huge outdoor play areas cut through corn fields. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, outdoor play clothing and bring the whole family for some fun.
 
Hayrides

Hayrides are a pleasure ride in an open truck, wagon or sleigh which has been decorated with hay or straw and similar farm life paraphernalia. There is a link below but you can also do an Internet search in your region.


Pumpkin Patches

Pumpkin patches are great places to have some family fun and often include, mazes, outdoor games and of course pumpkins.
