The answer was very wise: Save your other foot! How to do that? First, Check your feet every day for cuts and bruises. More Information on Foot Care

The businessman dragged himself home and barely made it to his chair before he dropped, exhausted. His sympathetic wife was right there with a tall cool drink and a comforting word. Scientists say exercise strengthens brain
It boosts brain power by building new brain cells in a brain region linked with memory and memory loss. Researchers have conducted tests on mice and found out exercise affects a part of the brain called dentate gyrus, which is responsible for age-related memory loss. Later they used magnetic resonance images to figure out the effect of exercise on human. They found similar patterns in human. "Once these findings were established in mice, we were interested in determining how exercise affects the hippocampal cerebral blood volume maps of humans," they wrote. They, however, could not dissect the brains of people to see if new neurons grew, but they could use MRI to have a peek. ~ Diabetes In Control

New Information Shows Actos Shows Increased Incidence of Fractures
The results of an analysis of the trial database showed an increase in fractures in female patients. The results of an analysis of the manufacturer's clinical trial database of pioglitazone showed more reports of fractures in female patients taking pioglitazone than those taking a comparator (either placebo or active). The majority of fractures observed in female patients were in the distal upper limb (forearm, hand and wrist) or distal lower limb (foot, ankle, fibula and tibia). There were more than 8100 patients in the pioglitazone-treated groups and over 7400 patients in the comparator-treated groups. The duration of pioglitazone treatment was up to 3.5 years. Healthcare professionals should consider the risk of fracture when initiating or treating female patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with pioglitazone-containing products.

March 2007
Welcome to spring! In the northern section of the U.S. that means people are looking forward to warmer weather and garden preparations. If you plan to start some vegetable seeds indoors for transplanting outdoors later, there are some basic guidelines to follow. First, not all vegetables need to be started indoors as they do better if sown directly into the prepared soil outdoors when weather permits. Vegetables that are started from seed indoors are ones that produce a bush (tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, etc.) or large vines (cucumbers, melons, squash, etc.). Read More
