Defeat Diabetes® E-Lerts™ NewsletterAugust 2006
(Volume V, Issue VII)
Why is it, when type 2 diabetes is 75% - 90% preventable, the diabetes epidemic is growing worse each year? We are taking the reins (self-management) and know foods, supplements and exercise that can diminish diabetes symptoms, if not reverse them.
Indiana University conducted a study (981) and overall, 63 percent of adults surveyed in 2005 were overweight or obese, compared to 58 percent in a comparable national survey conducted in 2001. In 2005, 8.5 percent of respondents reported having diabetes, compared to 7.9 percent in 2001. Americans continue to gain weight and more are diagnosed with diabetes.
