Did You Know?
A Few Refrigerator Energy Tips
Make sure the seals on your refrigerator are tight. Use the old dollar bill test: if you can stick a dollar bill between the seal and the fridge, then you should replace the seal.
Other energy saving tips: keep the refrigerator coils clean; if possible, don't put the fridge next to or near the oven; don't leave the door open for any extended length of time.

WALKING IN HISTORY
In 2005 I was invited by Bob and Trudi Banting to visit the boyhood home of Bob’s great great uncle, Sir Frederick Grant Banting, the discoverer of insulin, located in the Town of New Tecumseth (Alliston), Ontario, Canada. This 100+ acre farm includes the original farmhouse in which Fred was born and grew up.
At the time, the Bantings were in the midst of a monumental struggle to rescue this historic landmark from the hands of The Ontario Historical Society – the group charged with the responsibility to preserve it in perpetuity. Instead, OHS violated its sacred trust in the interests of commercialism by selling this property to real estate developers.

November 2009
The month of NOVEMBER, is of special interest to me. It started me on a most amazing journey, where I met people like ANDY MANDELL, who I met, that has really made me more determine to be a ROLE MODEL, who like MR.DIABETES®, has shown that it is important to WALK THE WALK and TALK THE TALK.
My suggestion for DIABETES MONTH is to wear a button that says, "DO YOU HAVE A DIABETIC BUDDY? IF NOT, CAN I APPLY FOR THE JOB?" We could have the largest mosaic DIABETIC BUDDY CLUB circling the world.

November 2009
Autumn is the time to reflect on the performance of our vegetable gardens. Be sure to make notes of the likes and dislikes of any vegetables and their varieties. That will help you with choices of vegetables next year. Also, record any problems experienced with pests or plant diseases. Keeping good records of your vegetable garden will help eliminate the same problems next year.
