Diabetes Friendly Recipes
March 2011

The Agriculture and Health and Human Services departments issued the latest dietary guidelines on January 31, 2011, instructing those who are 51 and older, African Americans, or those who have hypertension, diabetes, or chronic kidney disease to reduce daily sodium intake to 1,500 milligrams, or about a half a teaspoon of salt, a day.

Defeat Diabetes Foundation's database of recipes are lower in sodium and lists nutritional content. Again, we are proud to be ahead of the "mainstream".
