The United States of Diabetes: New report shows half the country could have diabetes or prediabetes at a cost of $3.35 trillion by 2020.
 
Diabetic adults should be vaccinated against hepatitis B virus (HBV) as soon as possible after the diabetes diagnosis is made.

Research facilities, drug manufacturers and universities are conducting studies, clinical trials and surveys for new drugs, behavioral habits and other investigational information with the goal of improving our health. They are seeking individuals to participate in these studies and trials. More Info  
Treatments on the Horizon
 
Slightly more than a year of treatment with an investigational obesity drug that the FDA rejected for approval last year reversed type 2 diabetes in 15% of subjects.
 
A new diabetes study in the US is developing a diabetes treatment that could help tackle the disease, and not just the symptoms.
 
Medtronic Inc. has announced it has received regulatory approval for the first remote glucose monitor that will let parents check the blood sugar of a diabetic child sleeping in another room.
