Holiday Survival Tips for Diabetics
The hustle and bustle of holidays can make us feel like we are swept up in a whirlwind. Holidays can also be a time of great joy or great stress, depending on how you manage your time and expectations.
You’ve been through many holidays in the past, but perhaps this is the first time as a person diagnosed with diabetes; maybe you are experiencing poor diabetes control or a complication of the disease. Diabetes changes everything about the holidays and nothing about the holidays.

The Kid Initiative to Defeat Diabetes® (KIDD™) Curriculum
This generation of children is on the fast track to live a shorter, less healthy life span than their parents.
According to Connie Diekman, Director of University Nutrition at Washington University in St. Louis, "Nutrition education needs to start in prenatal classes and move through the entire education system…Many kids -- and their parents -- simply do not know what they ought to be eating."
The
Kid Initiative to Defeat Diabetes® Curriculum is designed to fill this gap in information about diabetes and obesity and its relationship to nutrition and fitness.
