I am a diabetic, first diagnosed in September 2009 at the age of 63.  Why – I’m still working on that!  I was raised in a typical middle class family, always enjoyed good food, loved burgers and fries, loved breads, a natural athlete who has participated in multiple sports since age 4, no history of diabetes in my family, and over the last 8 years have been eating more vegetables and whole wheat foods such as pastas and breads.
