High Resting Heart Rate May Shorten Life

A direct link between heart rate at rest and risk of death in people with stable heart disease has been found in a study. Heart rates greater than 78 had a 39% increased risk of suffering a major vascular event, a 77% increased risk of cardiovascular disease death, and a 65% increased risk of all-cause death.
