We have the technology now, we just need to link them together and make them safe. For morbidly obese patients with type 2 diabetes, bariatric surgery led to more improvement in A1c than standard treatment, a retrospective analysis showed. HbA1c levels decreased from a mean of 7.5% pre-surgery to 5.8% after one year.
