A New Zealand biotech company began a trial last week that implanted cells from newborn pigs into eight human volunteers as an experimental treatment for their diabetes and the participants will not use immunosuppressant drugs.

A specific immune cell has been identified in narcolepsy patients, indicating that the common sleep disorder is in fact an autoimmune disease.
