Diabetes Studies, Clinical Trials and SurveysResearch facilities, drug manufacturers and universities are conducting studies, clinical trials and surveys for new drugs, behavioral habits and other investigational information with the goal of improving our health. They are seeking individuals to participate in these studies and trials. Defeat Diabetes Foundation does not endorse any clinical trial, but does believe studies and trials are very valuable and necessary.
If you are thinking about volunteering for a trial, you should first understand the study's goals and the details of its design. Ask your physician for help on this. Also be sure to get the answers to these questions:

The REDWOOD Program is a series of clinical research studies that investigate a diabetes medicine. The goal of the REDWOOD Program is to determine if an investigational drug is safe and effective at reducing blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Participate in an NIH funded study for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy The study is testing Websites about self-managing neuropathic pain. The study is funded by a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant to Inflexxion, Inc., an independent research firm. It has been approved by the New England Institutional Review Board (NEIRB). The Principal Investigator is Dr. Jonas Bromberg. Please Join Find A Cure Panel for Type 1 Diabetes research and help support Defeat Diabetes Foundation:We are excited to announce an affiliation with Find A Cure Panel where people with Type 1 Diabetes and their caregivers can participate in quantitative online research designed specifically for them. For every survey completed by those who register, Find A Cure Panel will donate a minimum of $25 to Defeat Diabetes Foundation. Complete the two minute profile Northeastern University If you have Type 2 diabetes, are between the ages of 18 to 50 years and have no known hearing loss, you could be eligible to participate in a research study. Interested participants will meet at the Northeastern Speech, Language and Hearing Center for one session lasting less than 3 hours in length. The testing is not invasive or painful. Some of the factors for its prevalence include infant feeding practices, attachment, weight control, and exercise. Understanding the specific causes of Type II diabetes is an ongoing project for researchers and part of the process includes history-taking through questionnaires.
