Defeat Diabetes Foundation Wants You!Diabetes Awareness and Prevention is a big job and no one person or organization can handle it alone. That's why Defeat Diabetes Foundation is actively seeking individuals that are interested in participating in a variety of awareness and prevention projects in their local community. We're looking for motivated self starters to take a leadership role in promoting diabetes awareness and prevention projects in your home town.
We are currently seeking volunteers in the following areas -- click on the links to obtain additional information: Community Speaker -- Conducts speaking engagements on diabetes at civic organizations, clubs, schools and places of worship in your local area Diabetic Media Spokesman -- Spokesperson for primarily local media on their own diabetic experiences Book Reviewer -- Reviews books for Books You Can Use™ section of DDF website We'll be adding the following categories in the near future so stay tuned for information on: Community Action Project Leader -- Leads and organizes a specific community action project
Community Activist -- Works on potential legislation or action to promote a healthier community Community Surveyor -- Conducts surveys or assesses aspects of life in the community to identify areas requiring improvement Community Fundraiser -- Conducts or participates in fundraising activities for DDF Community Peer Support -- Works to provide peer support for other individuals with diabetes Update 2009 |
