Running, Walking and Cycling Events and Links
We encourage you to be active; at whatever your particular passion happens to be. Whether it’s running or cycling, kayaking, or a stroll in the park – in the motto of a famous athletic company “Just do it!”
But for some of you who like to take it to the next level there are plenty of organized events just for your particular passion. Here are some links to help you find out what is going on in your community.
Running Events

Walking Events
There are over 350 volkssport clubs throughout the USA, and many thousands around the world. Local clubs host the walking events. The club members select a trail for safety, scenic interest, historic areas, natural beauty and walk ability. They then invite everyone to come and enjoy it on a weekend or a weekday evening. The trails are marked or maps provided. Trails may be in cities, towns, parks, forests, rural areas, anywhere there is a pleasant or interesting place to walk.
Let’s face it not everyone is up to that pace or level of conditioning. Here’s a link to walk friendly marathons, half marathons and other shorter walking events.
Bicycling Events
Bikeride is a one stop for all things cycling. From events of all distances and terrains, to links to equipment manufacturers and more.
This is for serious cyclists. USA Cycling is a family of organizations that promotes and governs different disciplines of the sport, from mountain and touring events to BMX and junior events. They work to build the sport of bicycle racing, assist with athlete development and sustain international competitive excellence.
