Camp DAY2DAY is a free day camp for children and teens with or at risk of type 2 diabetes. It is sponsored by Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Camp Sugarbugs is a Family Experience. At Camp Sugarbugs, at least one parent must stay with their child for the two nights of camp. While the children are busy with our many activities, the parents have time to network and meet other parents who are also raising children with diabetes. All other siblings in the family are also invited.

Location: Easter Seals Conference Center in Mt. Juliet, TN at (appx. 35 miles east of Nashville).

Activities: Swimming, fishing, basketball, arts & crafts, games with prizes and many other programs designed to provide an atmosphere that gives both parents and childrenopportunities to meet with others who have the same hurdles and same goals.

Day Camp for children with diabetes and their siblings,

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Ages 6-12.

Activities: education sessions, athletics and exercise, swimming and pool games, and arts and crafts.

Location: Pleasant Green Swim Club in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, just north of Nashville.

Campers need to bring a sack lunch, swimsuit, and towel each day. Two snacks and drinks will be provided by the camp, thanks to generous corporate donations. Should a waiting list develop, children with diabetes will be given first priority, then any non-diabetic siblings will have second priority.

The Tennessee Camp for Diabetic Children (TCDC)

Location: Lake Chickamauga in Soddy, Tennessee, just north of Chattanooga.

Activities: Swimming instruction with trained certified personnel allows campers to complete beginner through advanced swimming classes. Canoeing, mountain biking, archery, arts and crafts, environmental awareness, and outdoor camping trips. As an added activity, 15-year-old graduating campers can look forward to an overnight camping adventure that includes caving and whitewater canoeing on the Hiwassee River.
