Six Diabetes Deaths Every Minute In The World

According to recently published WHO figures, diabetes is responsible for 6 deaths a minute in the world.

In an effort to change those alarming numbers, WHO and IDF have launched a joint program called Diabetes Action Now. The overall purpose of Diabetes Action Now is to raise awareness about the importance of diabetes, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, and to stimulate effective measures for the surveillance, prevention and control of the condition. Initial 3-year funding comes from the World Diabetes Foundation. The WHO-IDF program can be found at www.who.int/Diabetes.
